The Moorings of Vero Property Owners’ Association, Inc. (MPOA) represents over 1,150 residential owners of about 810 multi-family residences and 340 single-family homes. The Moorings’ ocean-to-river community encompasses 535 acres and includes over eight miles of deepwater bulkhead. The MPOA Board of Governors is comprised of 19 elected volunteer residents representing each of The Moorings’ unique communities. They work to enrich the quality of life in The Moorings, focusing on both the physical beauty of our surroundings and the personal safety and protection of MPOA members and their properties. The following lists some of the many services the MPOA provides on members’ behalf.
Responsible for the landscaping, irrigation and maintenance of The Moorings’ common grounds, which extend over two miles.This includes over 750 trees and the grass and planting areas on 18 center islands and 7 roadways.
Provides security services to MPOA members and their properties, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the 10 employees of The Moorings security organization.
Manages the MPOAs’ Beach Property that consists of almost three acres, including Tiki Huts with picnic tables and barbecue grills, as well as a major gopher tortoise habitat.
Responds to suggestions and concerns, and works with residents, to enforce GUIDELINES FOR LIVING IN THE MOORINGS.
Provides a community website at www.mooringspoavero.com as a one-stop central source of relevant Moorings and Vero Beach information.
Publishes an annual MPOA Members Directory listing each member’s name, address, phone number and e-mail address.
Sends MPOA members frequent e-mail blasts as reminders of Moorings community events and concerns.
Publishes newsletters to keep members up-to-date on The Moorings’ happenings.
Responsible for thecare of more than75 Moorings’ signs and responds to issues as to roads and some 128 streetlights in The Moorings.
Coordinates among all single-family homeowners and 17 condominium and homeowners’ associations as to items of common interest.
Shares the expense of maintaining The Moorings Channel and navigational aids in The Moorings’ waterways that contain over 600 docks and slips.
Sponsors and organizes several social gatherings at the Tiki Hut to promote a sense of community for The Moorings.
Monitors and controls an annualMPOA budget of over $306,000, financed by MPOA membership dues and security services fees.
Communicates on a regular basis with city and county officials on affairs concerning The Moorings.
Maintains a productivepartnership with The Moorings Yacht & Country Club, to which a majority of MPOA members belong.
